CTCF in human herpes virus latent-recurrence mechanism

疱疹病毒家族是一类具有包膜结构的双链DNA病毒,是人类病毒性疾病常见的病原体。目前已经鉴定的人类疱疹病毒共有8种,分为α、β、γ三个亚科,8种疱疹病毒所引起的临床表现各不相同,但均可在宿主体内建立长期潜伏感染,并在潜伏感染过程中可出现再激活,再致病。CTCF结合因子作为重要的多功能转录因子,是表观遗传学调控的重要作用因子,可调控多种靶基因的表达。目前研究提示,在多种人类疱疹病毒潜伏的建立及再激活过程中,CTCF发挥着重要的作用,本文就CTCF在人类疱疹病毒潜伏复发机制中的调控作用作一综述。

The herpes virus family is a kind of double-stranded DNA virus with envelope structure;they are common pathogens of human viral diseases. There are 8 kinds of human herpes virus which are divided into three subfamilies: alpha,beta, and gamma. The clinical manifestations caused by 8 herpes viruses are varied, but all herpes viruses share the defining trait of establishing a life-long latent infection within their hosts and can be reactivated during the long-term latentcy. CTCF binding factor is widely distributed in eukaryotes as a multi-functional transcription factor;it can regulate the expression of many target genes. Recent studies show that CTCF plays an important role in the establishment of latent phase and in the reactivation process of herpes virus. This review focuses on the epigenetic effects of CTCF on latent-recurrence of herpes virus.
