刘揆一是辛亥革命时期著名的资产阶级民主革命家,杰出的革命活动家和党务工作者,伟大的爱国主义者。岳麓书社出版了饶怀民教授撰写的《同盟会代理庶务刘揆一传》,该书是在广泛搜集刘揆一及其胞弟刘道一的资料、发表系列论文和考订文章的基础上写成的,提出了许多作者独到的新见解,纠正了过去史学界不少以讹传讹的谬误,对刘揆一一生进行了客观公允的评价,这部书是一部填补学术空白的扛鼎之作。

Liu Kuiyi was a famous bourgeois-democratic revolutionist,an outstanding revolutionary activist and party worker,and a great patriot during the Revolution of 1911.The Yuelu Book Club published a biography entitled "The Biography of Liu Kuiyi Huai-min,a Deputy of the Alliance Society" by Professor Rao.The book was written on the basis of extensive collection of information on Liu Kuiyi and his brother-in-law Liu Daoyi as well as a series of papers and textual research articles.The author puts forward many unique new opinions,corrects many fallacies in the field of history,and makes an objective and fair evaluation of Liu Kuiyi’s life.This book is an opus to fill the academic gap.
