A Review and Reflection on the Theory and Creation Contention of Historical Dramas

我国古代历史戏创作传统悠久,但"历史剧"名称却是20世纪才引进的现代学术概念。历史剧的概念和历史剧的标准是两个不同层级的问题,两者不应混淆,不应当用历史正剧的标准将大量的历史人物传说故事剧排除在历史剧类属之外。历史剧具有不同的类型、形态,不同类型、形态的历史剧具有不同的历史认知、艺术审美价值。历史剧虽然"是剧不是史",但不能以此为由轻视历史剧的历史认知功能。历史面貌和历史本质的真实是历史剧的灵魂,历史剧创作不能缺乏基本的历史文化内涵。

The creation of the ancient Chinese historical opera dates back a long time,whereas the term of "historical drama"is a modem academic concept introduced in the 20th century.The concept of historical drama and the criterion of historical drama are two questions of different levels,which should not be muddled up.A large number of historical characters and legends should not be excluded from the historical drama genus by the criterion of historical dramas.The variations of historical dramas in genre and expression form give rise to different historical cognition and artistic aesthetic values.The historical cognitive function of historical dramas should not be belittled even though they are "the dramas instead of the history".The sufficiency of basic cultural connotations is necessary to the creative writing of historical dramas owing to the fact that the appearance of history and historical reality are the soul of historical dramas.
