拿督公是马来西亚华人社会最常见的地方神祇之一,在一般人的认知中,拿督公是属于马来神明。其实,马来西亚的拿督公涵盖多元族群,例如:番拿督,即马来拿督公;其他族群拿督公,包含暹罗拿督、锡克拿督和印度拿督等;唐拿督,即华人拿督。可惜的是,学界对华人拿督公的关注并不多。拿督公信仰透露出马来西亚多元族群的融合和张力。

The Datuk Gong (or Datuk Kong)is one of the popular deities found in Malaysia Chinese society.In common understanding,Datuk Gong is a Malay deity.The paper discussed the multi-ethnicity of Datuk Gong belief.There is Fan Datuk,or Malay Datuk.Second,Other ethnics Datuk,comprising Siam Datuk,Sikh Datuk and India Datuk.Third,Chinese Datuk.The academic circle did not pay much attention on Chinese Datuk.Datuk Gong belief shed the light of the understanding of multi-ethic relationship in Malaysia.
