摘要
《文化工作的政治》(以下简称《文化工作》)最大的贡献莫过于打破了学界针对文化工业化及商品化现象开展的二元对立讨论的局限。《文化工作》致力于从文化产业的劳动过程及文化产业劳动者的角度来检视文化与经济的关系。作为一本理论性教材,在文化工作者自由问题上,作者马克·班克斯既不赞同批判理论对文化工作者异化的解释;也怀疑治理术主张分权、建构自下而上社会秩序的真实性。他肯定个体化理论提出的为文化工作正义的“另类”生产形式的构想,却又担忧资本的力量让一切反其道而行之。马克本人将《文化工作》定位为抛砖引玉之作;他坚信“纯粹艺术偏好”的有益性并建议在“艺术-商业-社会”三者之间继续探讨文化工作的未来。
The greatest contribution to The Politics of Cultural Work(hereinafter referred to as The Cultural Work) is to break the limitations of the opposite relationship between culture and cultural industrialization. In the perspective of the cultural industry workers, The Cultural Work is committed to rethink the relationship between culture and economy. As a theoretical textbook, when talks about whether cultural workers have rights to enjoy freedom or not, the author Mark Banks does not agree with the Critical Theory, which regards the achievements of cultural workers as alienation. Besides, he even suspects authenticity of culture governmentality.It seems that he agrees with the theory of individualization liberty, which urges to respect the will of cultural workers themselves. However, he also worries about the power of capital to wear down the passion of cultural workers. In a word, Mark regards the book The Cultural Work as a guide.He believes in the benefits of "purely artistic preference" and suggests that the future of cultural work should be studied among "art-business-society".
