Research for the Themes on Stained Glass in Tushanwan Orphan Craft Workshop

土山湾孤儿工艺院作为中国近代工艺美术的发源地,设有画馆、印书馆、木工部、五金部等部门,在绘画、印刷、木工等方面都有着突出的贡献及成就。著名画家徐悲鸿曾赞誉土山湾在“中西文化之沟通”上“曾有极珍贵之贡献”,是“中国西洋画之摇篮”。

As the birthplace of modern Chinese arts and crafts, Tushanwan Orphan Craft Workshop plays a role of indelible historical context for integration and exchange of the Chinese and Western cultures. In addition to the traditional Bible stories, mysterious manifestation sof saints, legends of local safeguarding gods and literary and historical stories, some changes also took place in local themes on stained glass in Tushanwan Orphan Craft Workshop.
