This paper suggests that the expansion of the discipline of film and drama into new media will contribute to the development of this discipline, because this powerful force, which will transform and innovate the discipline and facilitate the adaptation between films and dramas, is sure to promote the dissemination and impact of the discipline. It’s now a growing trend in major countries around the world and it becomes urgent to catch up with this trend for social and educational reasons. This paper suggests that faculty with this expertise and background should be strengthened for the sake of new teaching methods, writing techniques and research results. Hopefully, new media will vitalize the development of this discipline and become an attractive proposition.
