Communication fiber cable,especially trunk fiber cable,as the backbone of communication transmission network,its security is very important,it can be called the lifeline of local telecom operation companies.In order to deal with the influence of various external factors in the maintenance of trunk fiber cable,it is very important and necessary to make a reasonable maintenance plan according to the operation of optical fiber cable.This paper discusses some safety measures and protection methods in view of the external construction site situation of direct buried trunk optical cable,aiming at strengthening on-site management and control and reasonable technical measures,and achieving the protection goal of protecting optical cable safety.
