Mount Taishan is reputed for its abundant culture. It is designated by the UNESCO as both the World Natural Heritage and the World Cultural Heritage. ●The rock inscriptions on Mount Tdishan are characterized by long history, wide distribution and tremendous amount. So far there are more than 500 stone steles and over 800 cliff rock inscriptions extant on Mount Tai, which ranks first among the famous mountains in China. ●Since 219 B.C. when Qin Shihuang, the first emperor of the Qin Dynasty, initiated the ceremony to offer sacrifices to heaven and earth on Mount Tai, the cultural connotation of Mount Tai was greatly enriched.
