Enzymatic colorimetry and ion selective electrode method for the determination of Na and K in serum were comparatively studied. Experimental results indicate that there are good correlation between the two methods, but the enzymatic colometry is more simple and rapid, especially suitable for clinical laboratories with large numbers of samples tested roulinely. In addition, it is more convenient for data management of biochemical testing. Lipidemia and icteric samples have no obvious influence on test results.
