Academic results in myxomycetology was presented on the basis of the First, Second and Third International Congress on the Systematics and Ecology of Myxomycetes, which were respectively held in the U.K.(in September of 1993), Spain ( in April of 1996) and the U.S.A. (in June of 1999). Simultaneously discussed was the recent research development in systematics of myxomycetes, molecular biology, molecular systematology, and ecology. The trend in world myxomycete research was also predicted.
