By and large. China's macro--economic development will benefit the expansion of the
household appliance industry. In terms of industrial development characteristics, exports
will continue rising and imports of high--grade household appliances and spare parts might
increase. WTO entry will change the role of government. Changes in the financial system
and retail sector will have a measurable influence on the economic operation of the
household appliance industry. Products might not see surprising changes. Start--up of the
rural market has to wait. Kitchen and sanitary electrical appliances will become new bright
points. The household appliance distribution industry will play an important role. Price
competition will still be one of the major means competing in the market.
