The paper gave the overview of OPC technology and its application, discussed functions of OPC in open datainterchange among field devices, in data share among netsegments with different protocols, in system integration among FCS, DCS and PLC, in access to special database, and described how integration & 慞lug and Play 抋mong application software were implemented by OPC middleware in industrial controlsystems.
