An analysis of correlation On seismic energy in Fujian-Taiwan Region

本文应用数理统计的方法,研究了闽、台地区地震能量相关关系。结果表明,该两地区释放的地震能量间存在着显著的正相关,其相关方程为Y:0.22×10^(-2)X+5.03×10~4J^(1/2)。文中讨论了存在这种相关性的机理,指出它不仅与该两地区所处的地理位置和地质构造有关,还由于闽、台地区同位于一个应力场的缘故。

This article discusses the correlation of seismic energy of the two neighbouring areas——Fujian and Taiwan by mathematical statistics. The results show that there is remarkable positive correlation in the seismic energy released in the two neighbouring areas, of which the correlation equation is Y =0.22×10^(-2)X+5.03×10~4J^(1/2). The article also gives a minute description of the mechanism that makes the correlation exist and suggests that it is not only related to the location of the two areas, but also attributed to the same stress field that the two areas are in.
