Facing 21st century,this paper reriewed the contributions of botanic life science to the developments of agriculture and summarized its present research conditions.On the other hand,the article anticipated that botanic life science in new century would make progress in such aspects:applying high yield and quality adversity resistant transgenic plant to production extensively,the second“green revolution”meeting with success;artificial seeds coming into the market;expanding food stuff supply;opening up new energy sounes and creating new natural resources;popularizing continuous developable ecologic agriculture.
