The Need to Establish Multilateral Cooperation for Petroleum Security

未来20年世界石油供需将基本保持平衡,我国石油产量可维持在国内石油需求的50％左右,因此我国石油供应安全是有基本保障的,面临的外部威胁主要来自我国周边和海上石油进口运输线的不安全因素。我国应该在整体能源安全体系中寻求石油安全保障,在建立适合我国特色的能源消费结构的同时,充分发挥好亚太地区性政治与经济组织的作用,促成亚太地区能源安全多边合作体系的建立。

Global oil supply and demand will largely be balanced tor ihe next 20 years, China's oil production can satisfy 50 percent of the country's oil demand. Therefore, security of oil supply can be basically ensured in China. The threats to this security come mainly from unstable conditions in neighboring countries and offshore transportation lanes utilized for oil imports. It i.s necessary for China to seek appropriate measures to ensure oil supply in the overall context of its energy security system. While the country establishes an energy consumption structure, China should take full advantage of political and economic organizations in the Asia-Pacific region to promote the establishment of multilateral cooperation for regional energy security.
