Multicast technology is widly used in the network and its research is still in developing , this paper mainly concerns about its implementation in layer 2 switch. We make some development on the IGMP, so it can be used in our ethernet switch. A multicast group can be regarded as a VLAN and the implementation of VLAN in the switch is also given here.
