Geotextile containers stuffed with sandy fill were used for the approach embankments,cross dikes and cofferdams enclosing the reclaimed area for erection of car dumper shed in the first phase of Shenhua Port in Huanghua This paper presents an analysis of the success and failures in the use of the geotextile containers and,with recommendations for solutions,also raises the problems needing consideration when the geotextile containers are used in similar works
