A Study of Ancient China Border Defense under the Background of "Hua Yi Order"

"华夷秩序"是以古代中国为中心的一种国际秩序,其根基是中原王朝发达的经济和高度的文明。"华夷秩序"下中央王朝与边疆少数民族之间的关系较为复杂。本文从古代中国边界的范围入手,循着古代中国边界的特点,分析古代中国边防的性质,进而探寻古代中国边防对当代边防的启示,以期从边防视角对"华夷秩序"下古代中国与边疆少数民族政权间的关系进行新的解读。

＂The Huayi Order＂ is an international order, which was focused on ancient China, based on developing economic relation with frontier minorities. This order shows a high level of civilization of ancient china. While on the other hand, the relations between central dynasty and frontier minorities were more complex under ＂ Hua Yi Order＂. This article attempts to analyze the border defense activities of ancient China border defense by studying the special characteristics of ancient China borders. And then ex- plore the inspirations on contemporary border defense from the perspective of ＂Hua Yi Order＂, by stud- ying a new interpretation to the relationship between ancient China and the frontier minorities.
