According to the characteristics of the dialects in the neighbouring area between Hunan, Guangdong and Guangxi, this paper puts forward the concept of 'Nanling Dialect Archipelago', and reckons that the dialectology's discovery of the 'tuhua' and 'pinghua' in the range of Nanling Mountains is like the discovery of the New Continent.
