Research on the Rightsizing of an Information System

面对日益复杂、多样化的需求 ,如何设计和构造有效的信息系统 (IS)、实现规模优化是企业面临的重要挑战。通过对IS的需求以及目标的分析 ,认为构造可扩展的系统是实现IS规模优化的关键 ,并在分析可扩展系统的实现技术的基础上 ,对垂直与水平两种扩展模式进行了分析和探讨。

With the increasingly complicated and diversified demands, how to construct an efficient and rightsizing Information System (IS) is a great challenge for an enterprise. Through analyzing the requirements and goals of an IS, it is found out that constructing an expandable system is the key point for the rightsizing of an IS. Based on analysis of the implemented technology of an expandable system, a vertically and a horizontally expandable mode are discussed.
