In this paper the discretization method is used and the epicyclical gear train is first decomposed into simple gear train units of K-H type and then these units are put into kinematic analysis, torque analysis and power-flow analysis. The relationship between inner torque and self-locking and that between circulation power load and self-locking is revealed and the self-locking zones for the 2K-H type and the 3K type planetary gear trains are deduced.
