This paper discusses issues in the planning and construction of long-distance optical cable backbone transmission network,including network structure and network pro-tection,optical fiber and optical cable,network installation technology and network manage-ment,etc.It briefly describes application prospects of new network technology,and presents how to transform from current network to future all optical network.
