According to the trend in development of domestic WEDM numerical control system for highly speed, this paper describes the importance of research and development in the open WEDM numerical control system, introduces the operating system of Linux in details ,and gives the architecture of the open numerical control system for WEDM based on Linux and the methods to realize it.
