The l 1 data fitting is the method of data fitting by using l 1 criterion function. When there are certain data existing bigger error in the measuring data list, the data fitting by using l 1 criterion function is better than by using secondary criterion function. Through establishing the relationship between l 1 criterion function and secondary criterion function, a new method of l 1 data fitting for linear data is discussed and related conclusion is given.
