The several routes of production process of 1,3\|propanediol were introduced and compared, including hydration and hydrogenation of acrylaldehyde, carbonylation and hydrogenation of ethylene oxide, microbiological fermentation of monosackcharide, polysaccharide and glycerol, the process starting from methylene oxide and ethanal etc.. It was considered that the processes of carbonylation and hydrogenation of acrylaldehyde and microbiological fermentation of saccharide were superior to other process routes.
