There were 24 working days in April 2002. Euro/RMB trading was introduced on April 1. The number of trading currencies has increased from three since forex transactions started in 1994 to four, which indicates substantial progress in China's forex market. In April, the average daily turnover of interbank forex market shrank slightly, the excess of forex supply over demand decreased a little and the RMB's exchange rate kept stable.
