Classification on Chinese Wheat Regions Based on Quality

根据生态因子对品质表现的影响 ,土壤质地、肥力水平及栽培措施对品质的影响 ,品种品质的遗传特性及其与生态环境的协调性 ,以及我国小麦的消费状况、商品率和可操作性的原则 ,将我国小麦产区分为 3大品质区域 ,即北方强筋、中筋白粒冬麦区 ,南方中筋、弱筋红粒冬麦区和中筋、强筋红粒春麦区。

The importance of wheat quality region classification is described based on the experience of quality wheat development in other countries. Classification of wheat quality region in China considers five factors, i.e.: (1) Climate factor including rainfall, temperature, and sunshine; (2) Soil type and texture, fertility, and cropping system and management; (3) Genetic potential for quality performance; (4) Wheat consumption and percentage of trading wheat; (5) Major wheat production area. In general, three regions are recognized, i.e., white hard and semi hard winter wheat region in north China, red semi hard and soft winter wheat region in south China, and red semi hard and hard spring wheat region. Suggestions for wheat quality improvement are also presented.
