摘要
太平天国运动充分利用了宗教信仰来组织、发动群众 ,进行革命斗争 ,但宗教信仰在运动中所起的消极作用是十分明显的。它与传统文化不相融 ,得不到中国民众的支持 ,不能联合更多的反清团体 ,反而成为太平天国领导集团争权夺利的工具。
The revolution of Taiping Heavenly Kingdom (1851-1864) organized and aroused the people by using their religious faith. However its negative influence was obvious: it did not agree with the traditional culture and failed to win support from the people; it could not unite more groups of anti-Qing government but only became means by which the leaders of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom struggled for their rights and benefits. In a word, religious believes accounted mainly for the failure of the revolution of Taiping Heavenly Kingdom.
