从词汇语义的角度探讨了英语语言使用过程中所表现出的对女性的歧视现象,在一定程度上揭示了社会对女性的不公正态度。英语语言中的性别歧视现象是特定的社会传统价值观念和民族的思维方式在语言中的反映,而社会现实中男女真正的平等是消除语言中性别歧视现象的根本途径。

This paper discusses the discremination against women in English language from a perspective vocabulary usage and reveals to a certain degree the social bias towards women. Sexism in English language is the reflection of the particular tradi-tional social values and thinking patterns of the British nationality while its elimination depends on the sexual equality in real life.
