Based on tests of S493 diesel engine, the combustion heat release parameters andtheir effects to the performance of the engine are discussed in detail, The paper also analyses theengine overall features in comparison with ones of same kind at home and abroad, goes furtherinto the matching conditions of the engine with K26 turbochager by taking the engine runningcurve, the transient respone characteristics and the turbocharger's air-release adjusting featuresinto consideration.
