The robustness design of software for surface to air missile weapon system is a major processing challenge in software development.This paper begins with an introduction of several characteristics of advanced weapon system software,and then the connotation of the software robustness is described,it showes that the robustness is a software quality attribute which refers to a synthesis of software reliability,safety and coordinateness.A concept of software robustness design is provided with the emphasis on method of the software robustness design.
