摘要
本文通过翟理斯的一部专著和一部译著介绍他在汉学研究上的成就与造诣 ,并着重评价了他的《华英字典》的特点。
This paper expounds H.A.Giles' great achievements and attainment in the study of Sinology by reviewing his two bocks.It then looks at the schoalr's ChinsesEnglish Dictionary,pointing out its characteristics,great influence,and important position in the history of bilingual dictionaries.
