A Brief Discussion on the Adjustment of Chinese Economic Structure Early in the 21st Century

经过20多年的渐进式改革,我国的基础性改革已经取得了决定性胜利,但经济结构的内在矛盾日益突出,经济结构的调整势在必行。在经济结构调整中,体制创新具有根本性的作用,技术进步是主要手段,市场机制则是基本取向。同时,还应注意处理好经济结构调整与结构性改革、政府改革等关系。

After more than 20 years' reform, China has achieved great success in elementary reform. In spite of this, there are still many contradictions in the economic structure, and it's time for us to make an adjustment. In doing so, we must innovate our present managerial structure and improve the technology on the basis of market system. At the same time, we must handle the relationship between the adjustment of the economic system and the reform.
