浅探英语幽默中的双关语

On Pun in English Humorous Stories

本文就英语幽默大量存在的双关语进行举例分析、论述及归类。把英语幽默中的双关语分为三大类 ,语音双关、语义双关和短语双关 ,各类又可根据英语这一特定语言的语音、语义的特殊性分为若干小类 ,并逐一举例论述。同时也指出双关语这一修辞用法在英语幽默中所起的举足轻重的作用。从而阐明了双关语在英语幽默中确实随处可见 。

In this paper the author discusses and classifies the abundant puns in English humorous stories by analyzing a lot of examples. The paper divides the puns into three main categories, that is phonetic pun, homograph pun and phrase pun. And according to the special phonetic and homographic characters of English, every category is also being divided into several small branches and discussed in details. Meanwhile, the author points out that pun plays a very important role in English humors so as to clarify the great existence and importance of puns in English humorous stories.
