Zhang Ai-Ling's fictional characters had a deep and dreary emotion. Through the character's tragedy, it deducts and annotates life; Through the insight of Clown-Checkup, it scans humanity's hypocrisy; by description of loveless marriage, it disposes humanity ugliness. From her fictions, readers psychologically come to realize the severely twisted and hypocritical humanity of the characters who were involved in gold value in 1940's China urbanism.
