The applications in polyethylene and polypropylene of halogenated flame retardants and such non-halogenated flame retardents as hydrated metal compounds,phosphated flame retardants,intumenscent flame retardants and silicated flame retardants are introduced. The main development direction of flame retardants for plastics is also pointed out.
