让“研究型大学”可望又可即

Making the Research University not only within Sight but also Accessible

大学发展研究功能 ,至少已有几百年的历史了。当“研究”发展到一定的程度 ,它就可被认为是“研究型大学” ,所以建设研究型大学主要是实践的问题。本文主要从某些方面在实践上讨论今天在中国如何创建“研究型大学”。这是一个很具体的而且现时应该很认真对待的工作。

It has been at least several hundred years since the university first had a function of research. When this function has been developed to a certain degree, the institution can be regarded as a research university. Therefore, the author holds that the key to constructing research universities is practice. In this paper, the author mainly discusses how to run research universities practically in China today, which has become a specific undertaking deserving serious consideration and great efforts.
