Impacts of China WTO Entry on Sino-Indonesian Economic & Trade Relations

中国入世,从总体上有利于扩大中印(尼)经贸关系,使中印关系上一个新台阶。但是,有可能对印尼的出口和投资造成一定的影响。目前,两国关系处在历史最好时期,两国经贸关系必将随着中国入世和印尼经济的恢复得以进一步发展。

China抯 WTO entry will enlarge the economic and trade relationship between China and Indonesia on the one hand, but will challenge Indonesian economy in terms of foreign investment in some domestic industries and export on the third country markets on the other hand. In my opinion, it is the best way for Indonesia to meet the challenge from China抯 entry into WTO that Indonesia improves its domestic investment environment and competitiveness of products. China will further its economic relationship with the Southeast Asian countries and establish the ASEAN-China Free Trade Area in order to diminish the impacts of China抯 WTO accession on Indonesia and to get win-win results.
