Realization of VOD on LAN Using RM and ASF Streaming Media Format

目前国内高速宽带网尚未普及 互联网上虽然有影视剪辑广播 ,但拨号上网很难获得满意的实时点播效果 然而在一些企事业单位和学校的局域网上 ,文件实际下载速率却可以达到几百Kbps到 1Mbps左右 。

The high-speed and wide-band web is not popular at present. The VOD using modem is hardly to get a satisfactory effect although there are some video clips to broadcast on the web. But the file downloading rate on LANs of some businesses, institution and universities may actually get from hundreds MB to 1 MB or so, which makes it possible to realize VOD on such a LAN using the streaming media technology. Our work is aimed to seek a method to realize VOD on a LAN using the streaming media technology in terms of RM and ASF file format.
