This paper discribes the principle of measuring flowrate in the pipe by the.tracer method and the physical concept of average transit time. The fenction of a computerized flowmeter developed from the abov principle and its application are introduced, and the errors existing in the results measured are also analyzed. Practice shows that the higher accuracy within reach can be obtained from measuring the flowrate of single pump in the small and medium sized pump station by using this type of flowmeters.
