A bit image data compression for the documents storage and retrieval system

本文通过对文档文件电子映象数据的分析,提出了一种高速、高压缩比的文档文件位映象数据压缩方法。由于考虑了数据行之间的相关性和文档文件的特征,从而获得了10:1以上的平均压缩量,并保持数据信息无损失,大量节省了光盘文档系统的存贮介质。

This paper deals with a kind of bit image compression technique for a documents stor-age and retrieval system.By studying the run-length distribution of the 6 modeldocuments,a fast,high compression rat technique is given.Because of the lines'interrelation beign considered,the method is superior to the MHC.On a PC/AT with a generatic DSP card,an ideal,practical compression rat and ahigh speed are achieved,which means a great saving of the WORM disketts.
