This paper studies the method of movement simulation of the planar linkages mechanism on the 3 D machine designing system SolidWorks platform. Based on SolidWorks platform and with API as application programming interface and the type transformation and the general type transformation theory as basic theory of kinematics analysis the movement simulation of 3 D solid of mechanism can be realized through selecting and transforming mate feature of the mechanism and geometry information of components of the assembly, and using the tool of Visual C ++ language.
