We used basic decomposition, acid cleanup, liquid liquid extract, silica gel cleanup, concentration, sulful cleanup, etc to treat the environmental samples and analyzed the PCBs with a gas chromatography(GC) equipped with a capillary column/ electron capture detector(ECD) This method had accurate qualitative and quantitative identification and high recovery The MDL for Aroclors congeners varied in the range of 0 01 to 0 08ng/L in water and 0 003 to 0 03μg/kg in soils The method can applied in analyses of PCBs in water, soils, sediments, waste soil, etc
