The article aims at introducing the clean incineration technology developed by Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. As is known, both in the quantity and seriousness of pollution, the municipal solid waste (MSW) has become one of the top hindrances to the further modernisation of China. However, there is no MSW that has been so far treated clean enough. To solve this headache causing problem, the authors of this paper, some researchers in Tsinghua University, have been working on a clean incineration technology to dispose MSW, such as rubber, plastic, foliage and powder of tobacco leaves. Incinerating experiments were done in a batch scale by using an experimental Circulation Fluidized Bed Incinerator (CFBI), in which five tons of MSW can be disposed every day. Four sampling points of the flue gas in the flowing direction are established from the inlet of furnace to the stack, from the center of the furnace, its outlet, the cyclonic separator to the outlet of hydrochloric cleaner of flue gas. When the MSW was incinerated in CFBI, the flue gas was sampled from above four points, and was analyzed to detect the content of Cl by means of NaOH Absorber^AgNO 3 Titration. The initial density of HCl in the sample MSW has been shown in this paper. All the data points were gathered and counted by taking the mean value of the several testing samples. The sample testing of ours results in the reduction of density of HCl to 1% of the initial value and the maximum concentration 54.3 mg/m 3 dropping below the permitted limit, which proves that the disposal efficiency can satisfy the demand of the pollution control standard of China. Furthermore, a CFBI that can carry out 150 tons of MSW per day has been built in Beijing, China. The wet cleaner of flue gas, which is similar to the bench scale experimental incinerator, was installed as an industrial incinerator, which has been so far working properly. The determination of HCl in the inlet of stack shows that the average density of HCl in the flue gas was 21 mg/m 3 (standard state at 11% O 2), much lower than the permitted value of 75 mg/m 3 set by the state. A conclusion has been drawn based on the theoretical analysis and experimental evidence that the main source of HCl in flue gas of MSW incinerator is inorganic chloride, and the wet method can satisfy the criterion of HCl pollution control in industrial device.
