On March 31,2002, a strong earthquake of M 7 5 occurred near the east coast of Taiwan,resulting in greater losses of life and property.Some information data about the earthquake are outlined in the paper,including focal parameters,moment tensor solution,damage,casualties and backgound of earthquake occurrence.
