Based upon the basical structure units of woven and weft knitted fabrics, this paper discusses the resilience and the rigidity of fabrics in their different structure directions. The stitch itself is not the same in both walewise and coursewise direction of weft knitted fabrics, so that the properties in their corresponding directions are not the same either.
