An association of apolipoprotein E gene polymorphisms between depression and dementia

目的 探索基因与抑郁症和痴呆的关联。方法 对42例单相抑郁症,39例双相抑郁症,40例痴呆和100例健康对照者进行载脂蛋白E(appolipoprotein,APOE)基因分型,计算基因频率,并对抑郁症、痴呆与APOE基因多态性进行关联分析。结果 抑郁症和痴呆的APOEε2等位基因频率比对照组低,单相抑郁症和痴呆的APOEε4等位基因频率高于对照组,且APOEε4等位基因与痴呆密切关联。结论APOEε2基因可能是抑郁的保护因子,痴呆与单相抑郁症可能分享共同的发病因子。

Objectives: To investigate the association of applipoprotein E(APOE) gene's polymorphisms with depression and dementia. Method: The frequency of the APOE alleles and polymorphisms in 40 patients with unipolar depression, 39 cases with bipolar depression, 40 patients with dementia and 100 normal controls, were compared. Results: The allele of APOEε2 in groups of depression and dementia were lower than that of controls. The allele of APOEe4 in unipolar depression and dementia groups were higher than that of controls. There was significant relationship between dementia and APOEe4 allele. Conclusion: It is possible that APOEε2 is a protecting factor for depression. It is proposed that depression and dementia may share common risk factors.
