数据库—数据仓库技术和网络技术的迅猛发展 ,使我们积累了越来越多的数据 ,如何对这种海量数据进行深入分析和利用 ,并从中发现有用的知识 ,已成为信息化社会所面临的重要问题 .探讨近年发展起来的海量数据处理技术—数据挖掘的概念、任务、方法、过程 ,以及数据挖掘在有关行业中的应用 。

People usually look upon original data as the source of knowledge.Due to the rapid development of the database-data warehouse technology,more and more data have been accumulated. An important problem to whick an information society has to face is how to analysis and use such data of huge amount more efficiently and to discover useful knowledge. This paper sketches out the ideas,the targets, the methods,the courses,and the applications of Data Mining-a recently developed technology applied in processing data of huge amount,and then shows the necessity of opening a course of Data Mining in relative specialties in colleges and universities.
