Public Libraries of Guangzhou and Hong Kong:A Comparative Study

通过对广州与香港公共图书馆服务的效益、设施投入和管理体制的比较,认为合理的图书馆服务网点和总馆/分馆制管理体制是完善公共图书馆服务的两个主要因素,也能为我国公共图书馆事业管理变革提供启示。

This paper draws a comparison of the effectiveness of library service, the investments of facilities and the systems of management in pubraries of Guangzhou and Hong Kong. It argues that the rational distribution of library service and the structure of the main-and-branch-library system of management are the two major factors to improve public library service, which gives an inspiration to the structural reform of management for public library services in the country.
